Rorschach Inkblots.

So you have probably seen this at some point in your life.

But do you know what it is? It's an inkblot. People call them rorschachs because he was the one who created them. They're basically inkblots that do not have any concrete shape or form. But psychiatrists use them to analyze people. The general question being:

"What do you see?"

Or so it goes. The human mind has the natural tendency to make sense of shapes that are hoenstly nothing more than shapes. But your mind will try to rationalize the shapes in the inkblot anyway. What you 'see' says something about you. So if you go through a series of inkblots and constantly answer that you see satanic images and symbols, well that will tell your psychiatrist you may be mentally disturbed. There is generally a pattern to your answers for the psychiatrist to make an analysis.

Now what if you say that you see a rorschach? An inkblot. Nothing. What do they infer about that? That you take things at face value? That you are more logical and lack creativity? I always wondered. IF you consciously tell your brain to not process the shapes and call it as it is, is it still something the psychiatrist will make an analysis of? Maybe that tells them you like to be in control.
